Norsk Titanium AS Announces Appointment of Interim CEO Carl Johnson

Oslo, Norway, 6 November 2023: Norsk Titanium AS (Euronext: NTI, OTCQX: NORSF) today announces the appointment of its Chief Technology Officer and industry veteran Carl Johnson as Interim Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.

Carl Johnson has been the Chief Technology Officer of Norsk Titanium since 2016 and has been closely involved in developing RPD®, the company’s proprietary additive manufacturing process that delivers structural titanium parts to aerospace, defense and other industries. “We are lucky to have a seasoned professional like Carl with a trusted reputation throughout the industry to take the reins and lead the company through a crucial growth phase,” says John Andersen, Chairman of the Board of Norsk Titanium.

Carl was instrumental in getting the first RPD® parts on the Boeing 787 program and continues to play a leading role in the ongoing qualification efforts with Airbus and other customers. Prior to joining Norsk Titanium, Carl had a distinguished 30+ year career at Northrop Grumman a leading global aerospace and defense technology company. He is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Robert J. Collier Trophy, presented to those who have made “The greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America”. Carl holds a BSME from Northern Arizona State University, an MSME from Colorado State University, and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Mike Canario will leave Norsk Titanium and assume the position as Chief Executive Officer of Qarbon Aerospace, a premier manufacturer of composite components and assemblies. “We want to thank Mike for his contributions during his more than five-year tenure. We wish him the best of luck with his next endeavor,” adds Andersen. The Board of Directors has initiated the search for a permanent CEO.
