First Public Viewing of the Revolutionary RPD™ Process and Metal Additive Manufactured Aircraft Components to Headline Interactive Exhibit July 11-15, 2016
OSLO – July 1, 2016 – Norsk Titanium AS, the world’s pioneering supplier of aerospace-grade, additive manufactured, structural titanium components today announced a major presence at the Farnborough International Airshow from July 11-15, 2016 in Hall 4, Booth A114.
Highlighting the Norsk Titanium exhibit is a full-scale mock-up of the company’s patented MERKE IV™ Rapid Plasma Deposition™ machine that has been qualified at the world’s top echelon of aircraft manufacturers to produce structural titanium components. The MERKE IV™ exhibit features integral viewing monitors showing how the RPD™ process works during aerospace production operations and a production operator will be on-hand to answer questions and demonstrate RPD™ parts produced by a MERKE IV™ machine.
The booth also features an interactive aircraft component exhibit where attendees can follow the RPD™ process from the refining of titanium through the additive manufacturing phase and to final installation on a composite aircraft. The museum-like experience allows guests to pick up and examine titanium parts in the three major stages of manufacture; (i) RPD™ near-net-shape, (ii) ultrasonic inspection form, and (iii) finished part.
